Manages to survive 30-foot fall

The Tamil Nadu Fire and Rescue Personnel (TNFRS) personnel rescued a 75-year-old woman who fell into a well in Chromepet on Sunday.

Around 9.30 a.m on Sunday, the fire control room received a call from neighbours informing them that the woman, Saroja, had fallen into a well.

A team from the Tambaram fire station, headed by Stephen Kumar and comprising Sriram, Kaleeswaran, Sundaresan and Subramani, rushed to the spot.

Using ropes, the team got into the 30-foot-deep well and pulled out the woman in 15 minutes. She was rushed to a hospital and is said to be out of danger.

The swift action of the firemen was appreciated by the residents.
