Durga Puja celebrations in city from today

As part of the Durga Puja celebrations, Bihar Chaupal Chennai, Periamet, a group consisting of people from Bihar and Jharkhand, will unveil a statue of the deity on Tuesday ( Saptami ) at Hema Malini Mini Mandapam, LIyods Road, Royapettah. Devotees may have darshan up to October 22. A food festival will be organised at the venue till October 21.

On October 20, Pran Pratishtha Puja, followed by Aarti, will be conducted at 12.30 p.m.; Aarti and Nisha Puja will be conducted at 7.30 p.m. and 10.30 p.m. respectively. On October 21, Asthami puja, followed by Aarti, will be performed at 12.30 p.m.; Navami Puja at 5.30 p.m., and Purnahuti and Aarthi will be performed 9 p.m.

On October 22, Dasami and Visarjan Puja will begin at 9.30 a.m., followed by Aarti at 12.30 p.m. and Visarjan Yatra (immersion) at 1 p.m.
