A youth who trespassed into the M.A. Chidambaram Stadium, where players of Chennai Super Kings were in a practice session on Sunday evening, was let off by the police.

Cricket fans were allowed to watch the team practice on Sunday evening at Chepauk. Thousands had gathered to watch one of the most successful teams in the IPL.

When the session was under way, a youth from the crowd, identified as Arvindakumar, 23, of Madurai, managed to breach the security cordon and run on to the field to meet CSK captain M.S. Dhoni.

The CSK captain ran around his team mates and successfully evaded him. However, the youth was nabbed by security personnel. Dhoni then greeted the fan with a handshake and a hug.

The Triplicane police later let the youth off after obtaining a written undertaking from him.
