Tamil Film Producers’ Council members K. Rajan, S.Ve. Shekher, A.L. Alagappan and others have lodged a complaint at the Police Commissioner’s Office on Thursday, seeking action against the council’s president Vishal and others for allegedly misappropriating fixed deposits maintained by the council without convening the general body or obtaining any approval.

Mr. Rajan, Mr. Shekher and others submitted a representation in this regard to the City Police Commissioner on Thursday.

“When the present office-bearers took charge in April 2017, ₹7.53 crore was available in the fixed deposits and accounts. Now they have closed them prematurely and siphoned these funds off. Only ₹50 lakh is available currently,” they said. They said the office-bearers used the money for their personal benefit and for grabbing votes to “continuously squat” in the office of the council.
