‘Coffee Box’

Chennai airport now has a coffee shop managed by persons with speech and hearing impairments. ‘Coffee Box’ was opened last week by a F&B firm Travel and Food Services (TFS) and the outlet will be managed by two people on each shift, an official of Airports Authority of India (AAI) said. TFS said, they have plans to open more such outlets in the other parts of the country too. AAI also put out a tweet recently and said: “Deaf and mute but magical: Converse in sign language with the staff serving at #CoffeeBox in domestic arrival. The smiling duo at the outlet will leave you spellbound with their hospitality. Big Congrats to @Info_TFS for employing them @AAI_Official”.
