Residents of coastal Tamil Nadu and Puducherry can expect light to moderate rain from Monday.

A low pressure area formed in southeast Bay of Bengal and moving westward is likely to bring rain for the next three days.

S. Balachandran, Deputy Director General of Meteorology, Chennai, said that on Tuesday and Wednesday, rain would progress inland and land-locked districts could expect moderate rainfall.

Isolated places in coastal districts can expect heavy to very heavy rainfall.

“The wind speed will be normal and not cause any damage. The low pressure is not likely to develop into a cyclone,” he said.

Chennai will get moderate rainfall associated with the low pressure.

The sky is likely to be generally cloudy.

The maximum and minimum temperatures will be around 32 degrees Celsius and 25 degrees Celsius.
