Close to 2 lakh engineering application forms sold

As many as 1.90 lakh forms were sold by Anna University in the past 23 days for admission to engineering courses in its affiliated colleges through single-window counselling. The university has received around 1.40 lakh filled-in forms.

Friday was the last day to submit the forms for medical and engineering courses offered in the State through single-window counselling.

The Directorate of Medical Education sold 35,667 forms and had received 31,332 forms so far. There have been more aspirants this year as compared to last year, when only around 30,000 forms were sold. Officials said the merit list would be released once revaluation and re-totalling of Plus Two marks are completed. A final picture on the number of applicants would emerge only on Monday.

Law forms

According to officials of the Dr. Ambedkar Law University, issue of application forms had been delayed for administrative reasons. The forms were supposed to have been issued on May 25. Some aspirants said they had already presented their bank chalans, but were told they would be informed when the forms arrive.
