Chief Minister Edappadi K. Palaniswami on Monday announced a cash reward of ₹20 lakh each to the three squash players from Tamil Nadu who won bronze medals in the ongoing Asian Games 2018 in Indonesia.
While Joshna Chinnappa and Dipika Pallikal won a bronze medal each in the women’s singles event, Saurav Ghosal won a bronze medal in the men’s singles event.
In his message to Ms. Chinnappa, Mr. Palaniswami said: “On behalf of the people of Tamil Nadu, I convey my heartiest congratulations to you on your marvellous achievement. I am delighted to note that you have won medal in the Asian Games for the third consecutive time.”
The CM said in his letter to Ms. Pallikal: “You have already won medals in the last two Commonwealth Games and added glory to Tamil Nadu and India.”
In his letter to Mr. Ghosal, Mr. Palaniswami said: “I am delighted to note that you have won a medal in the Asian Games for the fourth consecutive time, apart from having won laurels for the State and country in the recently held Commonwealth Games.”
