Chennai Schools begin admission of students

The Chennai Corporation on Wednesday started admission of new students in its schools.

Participating in a function organised at Chennai High School, Wall Tax Road, Mayor M.Subramanian said that Chennai Schools would remain open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. for admission of students.

In view of the improvement in the facilities and teaching standards, students of Chennai Schools have done well in the public examinations, he added.

Over 1.03 lakh students are studying in the 281 Chennai Schools. Chennai Schools registered a pass percentage of 86.33 in SSLC and 85.33 in Higher Secondary public examination last year.

Awareness campaign

The civic body has started an awareness campaign to highlight the facilities at Chennai Schools and attract more students.
