Chennai rains: power expected to be restored before noon

Tamil Nadu Electricity Minister P. Thangamani on Friday said power has been shutdown in 70 localities across the city which have been identified as “low lying areas”.

“But in most of the areas power supply is being maintained,” he said.

Out of 1540 feeders, only 112 feeders were out of power. Fifty nine have already been restored. All voltage level substation are functional as of now.

Power is expected to be restored by 11:30 am in most areas except Mudichur, TANGEDCO Managing Director M. Saikumar said.
