AirAsia offers business flyers more flexibility

Entrepreneurs, traders and businessman in the city who need to travel within and outside the country, at the drop of a hat, can take a look at AirAsia’s new service: Premium Flex.

The low-cost airline, which has a presence throughout South East Asia, has designed the service specifically keeping in mind the demographic of business travellers who, apart from scoring a cheap ticket, look for additional perks to enhance their travel experience.

The service was inaugurated earlier this month in Kuala Lumpur.

Tony Fernandes, group chief executive officer, AirAsia, said, “To maintain and remain on the cutting edge, we must keep innovating and improving our products and services.”

Some of the benefits offered under this new and improved product include the flexibility to change flights up to two times with no charge fee, baggage allowance up to 20 kg, and priority boarding and baggage claim on all AirAsia flights, except those to Sri Lanka.

Kenny Wong, AirAsia group head of ancillary, underlined the advantage the service provides to business travellers with unpredictable schedules.

Those availing of the ‘Premium Flex’ service also have the option of booking premium seats, in the first 14 rows, with comfortable seating and increased leg room.

On what people from the city can look forward to, Mr. Fernandes said, “The world is only growing smaller and increasingly, I see more Tamilians travelling to different countries, including Malaysia. We only hope to strengthen the bond with our services.”

AirAsia India plans to add new services to Jaipur and Chandigarh from Bangalore, from September.
