Mental arithmetic contest

The Sixth Tamil Nadu State-Level Abacus and Mental Arithmetic competition and Fourth Tamil Nadu State Level Speed Arithmetic competition, organised by Ideal Play Abacus India Private Limited (IPAIPL), will be held today (December 2) at Ramakrishna Mutt Ashram School, Bazullah Road, T.Nagar, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

“The competition will be organised in two sections — Abacus and mental arithmetic and Speed arithmetic ,” Chitraa Ravindran, Director - Training of (IPAIPL), said.

In the mental arithmetic competition, the first two rounds will have 10 questions to be answered in one minute, and the third round, 40 questions, to be solved in one minute.

The speed arithmetic competition will comprise of 10 questions in the first two rounds to be cracked within three minutes and the third round requires children to solve 20 questions in 30 seconds.

Shaarada K. Sriram, Managing Director, Ideal Play Abacus India Private Limited, said, “The objective of the competition is to give a chance for each child to compete on higher level, and raise their standard of performance.
