Change in parking slots of MTC buses

In view of the ongoing Chennai Metro Rail works in the premises of and around Broadway Bus Terminus, the Metropolitan Transport Corporation, in collaboration with Flower Bazaar Police Station, has made parking changes in the bus routes.

Under the new changes, buses from Broadway Bus Terminus bound towards Korattur, Villivakkam, Ambattur Industrial Estate and Avadi, such as 7B (Broadway – Korattur), 20 (Broadway – Villivakkam), 20A (Broadway-Mogappair) 20B (Broadway – Menambedu), 61B (Broadway-Arakkambakkam), 61D Extension (Broadway – KilKondaiyur) 71D (Broadway-Pudur), 71F (Broadway – Senthil Nagar), 120 (Broadway – Avadi), will be parked on Frazer Bridge Road, MTC officials said.

Buses bound towards T. Nagar, K. K. Nagar, Iyyappanthangal, Vadapalani, and Saligramam such as 17 M (Broadway – Iyyappanthangal), 17 E (Broadway-Saligramam), 11 (Broadway - Theagaraya Nagar), 11G (Broadway – K. K. Nagar), 17 B (Broadway – Mangadu), 17C (Broadway- Iyyappanthangal), 17 G (Broadway –Mogalivakkam), 17K (Broadway – Dasarathapuram), 17M Extension (Broadway – Saligramam) will be parked on Rattan Bazaar Road.

Other usual bus routes such as 21L, 21G, PP21, 21D, PP19, 21H, 18D, 52B, and 88K will ply from the premises of bus terminus.

For the convenience of commuters, MTC has put up boards, giving directions and displaying route numbers starting from Frazer Bridge Road and Rattan Bazaar Road, in and around the terminus.

Apart, three temporary shelters functioning as Time Office, have been put up - one on Frazer Bridge Road (Korattur, Villivakkam, Ambattur Industrial Estate and Avadi) and Rattan Bazaar Road (T. Nagar and K. K. Nagar, Vadapalani, Saligramam and Iyyappanthangal), officials added.

The time-office will be manned by MTC Staff, who will answer commuters queries on bus routes, bus stops en route, and timings of first and last departure of buses from the terminus.

The Flower Bazaar Police Station has evicted encroachments, in view of MTC buses parking slot on Rattan Bazaar Road.
