A few days after he was rushed to a private hospital with brain haemorrhage, 102-year-old A.S. Ramachandran made a “quick recovery” and was discharged on January 16, doctors said.

The centenarian was admitted to Venkateshwara Hospitals on January 12 with brain haemorrhage. “He had high blood pressure. As a result, he had giddiness and fell at home. He was treated in the Intensive Care Unit and made a quick recovery considering his age,” Su. Thillai Vallal, managing director of the hospital said.

Dr. Vallal said Mr. Ramachandran was given medication to stop bleeding and to control his blood pressure.

He had undergone an orthopaedic surgery for a fracture in the hip bone six months ago at the hospital. “He is a cheerful and positive person and is like a 75-year-old. He speaks and walks well for his age, and never complains of pain,” he said.
