After being removed from the South Indian Cine Television Artist and Dubbing Union for allegedly not paying her subscription fee, singer Chinmayi Sripaada, who accused national award-winning lyricist Vairamuthu of sexual harassment recently and shared accounts of sexual harrassment against actor Radha Ravi, said that she had already paid the lifetime membership for the dubbing union in February 2016. Actor Radha Ravi was recently elected president of the dubbing union.

Show-cause notice

Explaining the issue via a YouTube video, Ms. Sripaada said, “If they have to terminate my membership, they have to send a show-cause notice to me and I should be able to respond. This is according to their own rules.” She said that she had paid a lifetime membership fee of ₹5,000. She said that removing her from the union was not valid.

“I have the payment record in my bank account. So, I came to the conclusion that the union terminating me on the basis of not paying my subscription fee is false. It is only because…I shared a lot of these stories of sexual harassment against Radha Ravi,” Ms. Sripaada added.
