Bus rams electric post

July 30, 2012 11:27 am | Updated July 05, 2016 03:47 pm IST - CHENNAI:

Three women were injured when a bus travelling from the Madras Export Processing Zone–Special Economic Zone in Tambaram Sanatorium rammed a power supply post on Saturday evening.

Tambaram police said the bus was taking women workers to their homes in areas around Padappai. The driver of the bus is reported to have lost control of the vehicle and hit the TANGEDCO (Tamil Nadu Generation and Distribution Corporation) power supply post.

A crowd gathered at the accident spot that incidentally was just a few hundred metres away from where the school girl slipped to death from a bus on Mudichur Road on Wednesday.

The crowd charged that overspeeding and rash driving was unchecked by government officials.
