Builders to stay away from work today

October 13, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:34 am IST - CHENNAI:

Expressing its solidarity with builders in Mumbai in protesting the death of Suraj Parmar of Cosmos Group, who committed suicide last week, allegedly due to harassment, the Confederation of Real Estate Developers’ Associations of India (CREDAI) will be staying away from work on Tuesday.

Mr. Parmar, who was president of Thane chapter of Maharashtra Chamber of Housing Industry (CREDAI-MCHI), fought against a corrupt and inefficient system and had delivered numerous landmark buildings across Mumbai, CREDAI, said in a statement. “We are extremely saddened and as a mark of respect and solidarity, we will protest with the closure of our offices, site offices, registration and all construction work will come to a stop on Tuesday.”
