A 24-year-old man who jumped into the Adyar on Saturday has died.

His body was retrieved by Fire and Rescue Services personnel on Monday.

The police said Radhakrishnan, a resident of Adyar, was riding a motorcycle with his friend on Saturday night when a police team stopped them near the Thiru Vi Ka bridge.

A breathalyser test confirmed that he was drunk. When the police asked him to produce his licence, he jumped into the Adyar river.
