Maa Ula, a bike-taxi service run by the disabled in Chennai, launched their mobile app on Sunday.

Mohammed Gaddafe, one of the founding members of the service, said they had a fleet of 30 bikes operated by the disabled.

“For the last few years, we were operating based on calls received through our regular users. We will now be able to take bookings through the app,” he added. Mr. Gaddafe said they expected to expand their fleet and have more drivers join in from four districts — Tirunelveli, Madurai, Vellore and Thanjavur. The service was started in 2016 as an initiative to give employment opportunities to persons with disabilities.
