The Siva Kanchi police have seized around 200 kg of banned tobacco products on Tuesday.

According to the police, the police received information that six bundles, covered in tarpaulin sheets, were lying near the flower market on the Senkazhuneer Odai Street.

When a police team inspected the bundles, sachets containing banned tobacco products were found in them. Preliminary inquiries revealed that these bundles were offloaded from a bus. Shopkeepers in the area were not able to identify from which bus these bundles were offloaded.

In some bundles, address of the sender and receiver were not clear, while in others there was no such indications, police added.
