Bank robbery suspects identified

Police have established the identity of the fourth and fifth suspects who were shot dead on February 23 in a flat in Velachery in connection with bank robberies in the city.

The identity of Navneet Kumar of Patna was established when the Tamil Nadu police finally contacted his family. Police inquiries have revealed that a case of bank robbery had been registered against him by the Jehanabad police.

On Saturday, the identity of the fourth suspect, J.P. Yadav was established. Yadav was an accused in two bank robberies each in Mumbai and Kolkata. Police said the parents of both suspects refused to claim the bodies. The police are trying to find relatives of the family who would come to the city and take the bodies home.

The five men were killed in a Tamil Nadu Housing Board flat in a gunfight with the police.
