Award for Madras varsity professor

R. Sahadevan, Director and Head, Ramanujan Institute for Advanced Study in Mathematics, has been awarded the prestigious Indian National Science Academy Teachers Award for the year 2015. He is among the two academics from South India to win the award.

The award, instituted to recognise and honour teachers who have inspired students to take up science and technology, carries a scroll and Rs. 50,000.

Prof. Sahadevan is a visiting professor in many universities abroad and is a Fellow of The Academy of Sciences, Chennai.

He was the recipient of the Tamil Nadu Scientist Award in 2002, the Hari Om award in Theoretical Sciences for the year 2007 by the University Grants Commission and academic achievement award for 2012 by the University of Madras.
