Award for Harris Jayaraj

Music director Harris Jayaraj received the ‘Lifetime Achievement award’ of the Rotary Club of Madras East at a function on Wednesday.

Presenting the award, Governor K. Rosaiah appreciated the club for selecting someone like Mr. Jayaraj who had so many accomplishments to his credit. The Governor also praised the club for undertaking several social welfare activities for the benefit of the poor.

Mr. Jayaraj, dedicating the award to his parents, said his father was the inspiration for his learning music from the age of 12. While noting that he had missed out on many childhood activities, he said he had no regrets as music has given him a lot of happiness.

A.D. Padmasingh Isaac, chairman, Aachi Group of Companies, and VGP Ravidas, president of the club, spoke on the occasion.
