DMK treasurer M.K. Stalin on Sunday said the prospects of Opposition parties coming together against the ruling AIADMK were high.
Talking to reporters after meeting MDMK general secretary Vaiko at his residence at Anna Nagar here to invite him for the marriage of his brother’s son, Mr Stalin said a clear picture on the alliance would emerge just before the elections.
Alleging that people in the State had been subjected to enormous hardship under the AIADMK regime, he said there were many corruption charges against officials as well as Ministers.
“That is why we are demanding a CBI inquiry into the allegations against former Minister Agri S.S. Krishnamoorthy,” he said.
Mr. Vaiko, recalling the days he and Stalin worked together in the DMK, said it was a matter of pride that Mr Stalin invited him personally for the wedding. “I will certainly attend the wedding,” he said.
