Alleging that the AIADMK government was foisting cases on the DMK leaders and sending them to judicial custody, party president M. Karunanidhi said those in power would reap the bitter fruits of their actions.
In a statement here, he said the rulers were using the police department to target the DMK leaders without any evidence to support their action.
“If DMK leaders are released on bail, they file a new case against them to keep them in prison. They are using the police for the purpose and will certainly pay the price for their action. The police also cannot escape the consequences,” he said.
Mr. Karunanidhi said the ruling AIADMK had spent its four months in office either expanding various welfare schemes and programmes of the DMK government or winding them up and there were no original initiatives.
“This is because they are always thinking about foisting cases on the DMK leaders,” he added.
