Family members of APJ Abdul Kalam, former President of India, plan to take forward his dream through a foundation named after him.

At a function held here on Sunday, veteran music director Ilayaraja launched the Dr.APJ Abdul Kalam International Foundation, which aims to turn Kalam’s Vision 2020 into a reality. While Naseema Maraikayar, Kalam’s elder brother’s daughter, will be the managing trustee of the foundation, grandchildren will be trustees. APJMJ Shiek Salim, one of the members of Kalam’s family, said: “We want to fulfil Kalam’s dream to make India into a developed nation. He always loved to interact with youngsters and we want to organise students through the foundation. We will soon launch a website and organise voluntary organisations and educational institutions to realise his dreams.”

Many eminent personalities recalled Kalam’s contributions to the country. A logo of the foundation was also launched during the occasion.
