It was a Sunday treat for fans of Tamil film comedian Vadivelu and actor-director-choreographer Prabhu Deva, with the former recreating a popular comedy scene from their film Manadhai Thirudivittai after a gap of 21 years.

Prabhu Deva tweeted a video with Vadivelu, in which the comedian is seen singing the famous lines, ‘Sing in the rain’ from the 2001 film. Incidentally, it is the comedy track in the film that became a huge hit and continues to have immense recall value.

The song ‘Sing in the rain’ is a comedic take on the ‘Singin in the rain’ number from the 1952 English film of the same name. Prabhu Deva captioned the video ‘Natpu’ (friendship). Within hours, it was shared by over 17,500 Twitter users and attracted over 80,000 likes and numerous comments.

After a gap of nearly four years, Vadivelu is starring in the film Naai Sekar Returns. The film’s production house, Lyca, too shared the video and said Prabhu Deva and Vadivelu had met on the sets of the film.
