The Pallavaram police on Friday arrested two persons in connection with the murder of a woman on Tuesday.
Police said Joyce Sumathi (38) was found dead in her house in Kamakshi Nagar, Pallavaram. Investigations led the Pallavaram police and special teams of the St. Thomas Mount district police to E. Ayyappan (27) and R. Bhaskaran (29). On information that they were in Puducherry, police picked them up from a lodge there on Friday afternoon.
On interrogation, they are reported to have said that they committed the murder and robbed the woman of her gold chain and earrings.
The jewellery were recovered from them, a release from the Chennai Suburban Police Commissionerate said.
