A medical shop owner was attacked and robbed of his jewellery at Aminjikarai on Thursday night.
According to police sources, P. Saravanan (31) of Ayyanar Colony in Aminjikarai was returning home after closing his shop when he was intercepted by two persons. They forced him to part with his gold chain.
When he tried to resist, four others joined the accused and attacked Saravanan with knives.
They snatched his gold chain and other jewellery totally weighing about 13 sovereigns. The victim suffered cut injuries and was admitted to a private hospital
