Polio immunisation drive tomorrow

The Chennai Corporation will organise polio immunisation camps across the city for children aged below five on Sunday to mark the first phase of the campaign.

A press release said a total of 1,126 polio booths would be set up across the city to administer the drops to nearly five lakh children. The second phase of the campaign would be organised on February 27.

The camps will be conducted at government hospitals, schools, bus stands, railway stations and Corporation welfare centres between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. on both the days.

About 5,000 people, including Corporation personnel, Rotary Club members, employees of various government departments and representatives from several non-governmental organisations, would be involved in the conduct of the camps.
