Left-out booth slips to be issued from today

April 07, 2011 02:34 am | Updated 02:34 am IST - KANCHEEPURAM:

Left-out booth slips, issued by the Election Commission, will be distributed to voters on Thursday and Friday by the booth-level officers in 10 Assembly segments in Tiruvallur district.

The District Election Officer and Collector, T.P.Rajesh, in a press release, has said that issuance of booth slips was taken up in the district last week and majority of voters were covered. However, some of them were left out as the voters or their family members were not available at the houses during the time of distribution. Hence, the Collector said it was decided to carry out the exercise again on Thursday and Friday in order to ensure that all voters, to whom booth slips were prepared, are covered.

Meanwhile, enquiries reveal the district election wing at Kancheepuram was contemplating to organise special camps at the polling stations this weekend or early next week or to conduct door-to-door distribution again to cover the voters who were left out in the booth slips distribution exercise taken up in the Kancheepuram district earlier.
