Further hearing on Jayalalithaa's plea today

September 08, 2010 12:42 am | Updated 12:42 am IST - BANGALORE:

The Karnataka High Court on Tuesday adjourned to Wednesday a petition by former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and AIADMK general secretary Jayalalithaa questioning the correctness of translated copies of documents furnished to her in the wealth case.

In her petition, she had alleged that the documents in Tamil were translated into English when the case was transferred from a court in Chennai to a special court here. She urged the High Court to direct the special court to get the translations done correctly.

Appearing for the prosecution, former Advocate-General and Special Public Prosecutor in the case, B.V. Acharya, said the documents had been translated by the court and if Ms. Jayalalithaa had any grievance she could point out the wrongly translated wordings and they could then be justified.

Justice Subash B. Adi adjourned further hearing to Wednesday.
