Elaborate security arrangements are being made in view of the Indian Premier League (IPL) cricket matches here from March 14, Commissioner of Police T. Rajendran said on Wednesday.

At a meeting of senior police officers, functionaries of the Tamil Nadu Cricket Association and representatives of a private hotel here, he said adequate manpower would be deployed at the airport, hotel and stadium.

Players are due to arrive from Saturday.

“We will provide discreet security to players moving about for net practice or other purposes in and around the stadium,” he said.
