Chennai district has 40.58 lakh voters

There is a 1.79% rise this year

A total of 40.58 lakh voters are on the electoral rolls in Chennai district.

According to the electoral rolls 2017 published by District Election Officer D. Karthikeyan on Thursday, 40,894 male voters, 41,745 female voters and 27 third genders have been included in the rolls in the 16 Assembly constituencies in the district.

A total of 38,131 electors in the age group of 18-19 have been included in the rolls this year. Velachery (with 3.05 lakh voters) remains the Assembly constituency with the largest number of electors in the district.

Compared to the draft electoral rolls published last year, there is a 1.79 per cent rise in the overall number of electors in the district this year.
