A total of 127 officials of the police department will be given the Chief Minister’s Anna medals for 2009.
Depending on the grade of officials, the medals carry cash prizes of Rs.2,000, Rs.3,000 and Rs.5,000. Besides, four fire-fighters of the Fire and Rescue Services and two officials of the police department would be given the gallantry medals. They would be given Rs.100 a month.
The Chief Minister has issued an order in this regard, according to an official release.
