Action sought against TV channel

A public interest litigation petition has been filed in the Madras High Court Bench here seeking to initiate action against a Tamil television news channel under Cable Television Networks (Regulation) Act, 1995 and Indecent Representation of Women (Prohibition) Act, 1986 for airing video clips in which a person purported to be Nithyananda of Dharampaeetam was seen in a compromising position with a film actor. The court on Wednesday adjourned the matter to Friday.
