It is a matter of pride that the Medical Council of India has acknowledged Sri Ramachandra Medical College as a nodal centre for medical education technologies, said Dhirendra Pal Singh, chairman, University Grants Commission.
In his convocation address at the Sri Ramachandra Institute of Higher Education and Research (SRIHER) on Monday, Mr. Singh said the college was the nodal centre for 58 medical schools, whose faculty members were trained by the centre. The effort would help produce well-trained medical professionals, he added.
Medals of excellence
SRIHER vice-chancellor P.V. Vijayaraghavan said as many as 90 graduands received medals for their excellence in academic performance, at the 30th convocation.
This year, 20% more students graduated as compared to 2018, he said, adding that 1,081 graduands were awarded degrees, including 17 Ph.Ds, 26 super-specialty degees, 395 postgraduate and 643 undergraduate degrees.
