An 18-year-old student was killed on-the-spot after the motorcycle, in which he was riding, collided head-on with a BMTC bus near Bull Temple Road near Basavanagudi in Bengaluru on Sunday.
The deceased has been identified as Karthik, a first year B.Com student in a private college and a resident of Vijay Nagar.
Karthik, who left home to meet a friend, lost control over his bike and collided with the bus coming from the opposite direction. Due to the impact he sustained severe head injuries and was killed on the spot due to excessive bleeding.
Few passers-by rushed to help and informed police who, shifted the body for post mortem. Preliminary enquiries revealed that Karthik was not wearing a helmet and was riding in a rash and negligent manner. A case has been registered in Basavanagudi traffic police station.
