Recognising the efficacy of online services, the Endowment Department, in association with e-governance Department, has introduced a novel initiative for temple devotees of the State. They can now make online payments for various ‘sevas’ at 11 major temples owned by the Muzrai Department. These temples earn a revenue of more than Rs. 1 crore a year. Devotes just have to logon towww.bangaloreone.gov.inand book temple services.

Minister for Law and Parliamentary Affairs and Muzrai T.B. Jayachandra launched the online services on Thursday. Devotees can make payments through debit/credit cards or net banking. He said e-services would not only reduce the role of middlemen, but also cut down hardship faced by devotees visiting the pilgrim centres.

An individual having an identity card can book a maximum of two rooms for two days.

A total of 34,563 temples come under the jurisdiction of the Endowment Department.

Of them, 150 have been categorised as ‘A’ and ‘B’, based on their revenue. Online services would be introduced in these temples.
