The Ramanagar Police have arrested a 28-year-old teacher for sexually assaulting a high school boy during special coaching session on Thursday night.
The accused, Alex Antony Swamy, from Kollegal town, used to work in a private school as English teacher for the past six months.
The accused used to conduct special coaching classes for his male students after school hours. The students used to sleep in the school premises after special class hours and the teacher too used to stay with them.
The accused is reported to have sexually assaulted a student on Thursday night during one such stay. On being informed by the victim about the incident in the morning, enraged parents, relatives and friends stormed the house of Mr. Swamy, tied him to a pole and beat him up before handing him over to the police.
The police have booked Mr. Swamy under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses Act.
