Woman sexually harassed by stranger at bus stop

A woman working in an private company was allegedly sexually harassed by a stranger in Jeevan Bima Nagar during the early hours of Sunday.

According to police, the woman, said to be in her late twenties, had accompanied her four friends to M.G. Road for a party. The group, while returning home, dropped her off at Jeevan Bima Nagar bus stop. The victim, who was supposed to go to her house in Koramangala, booked a cab at around 2.30 a.m.

Police sources claim that while she was waiting for a cab, a stranger who was sitting in the bus stop allegedly kissed her. When she raised alarm, he fled the scene. The shocked victim approached the Jeevan Bima Nagar police and lodged a complaint.

The police are now checking the CCTV footage in the locality to identify the accused. A case has been registered and further investigation is on.
