A 32-year-old woman, who was on the run after allegedly conspiring to have her husband abducted and murdered, surrendered before the Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate after one month. The West Division police took her into custody. She was remanded in judicial custody after recording her statement. The accused, Vrinda, was the 13th person arrested so far in connection with the abduction and murder of Krishnappa from an ITI Colony in Jnanabharati when he went to play badminton with his friends. Fifteen persons have been named as accused in the case.

Vrinda, who was working as secretary in a mosquito net manufacturing unit belonging to Krishnappa, also a realtor and a businessman from ITI Layout, had later married him. Soon the relationship soured when Vrinda started demanding a share in the property and the couple reportedly used to have frequent fights over the issue.

When Vrinda came to know that Krishnappa was visiting his first wife on the pretext of meeting his children, she allegedly chalked out a plan to eliminate him and usurp his property, fearing she would lose share, police said.

As per the plan, she allegedly roped in her brother, Shivakumar, and his friends, who kept a watch on Krishnappa and abducted him on February 22 from near the park where he went to play badminton. The police later found the car with blood stains near Kengeri and the next day recovered his body from a storm water drain on Mysore-Bangalore highway near Channapatna.
