Moin’s arrest and his modus operandi have raised red flags for the police.

“It is a dangerous trend… if these cars are sold to anti-social elements or terrorists, tracking such vehicles will be next to impossible,” a senior police officer told The Hindu .

The modus operandi of the gang renders it difficult for police to identify a stolen car. In case they are suspicious about any car, the vehicle needs to be confiscated and sent to the forensic science laboratory for verification. This is a lengthy process, the officer explained.
