The Koramangala police arrested the watchman of a residential apartment complex for allegedly attacking a resident of the building after she filed a complaint of misbehaviour against him.

The victim, Deepa V., 28, a private firm employee living in Koramangala 8th block, complained to the Koramangala police against Venkatesh, 37, last week, for behaving rudely with her. The police summoned Venkatesh and warned him. The accused, on Saturday night, went to Deepa’s apartment and rang the bell continuously. When she opened the door, Venkatesh hit her head on the head with a hammer and escaped, the police said.

A profusely bleeding Deepa raised an alarm, alerting the neighbours who rushed her to a private hospital, where she is recovering.

Based on the complaint, the Koramangala police tracked Venkatesh down and remanded him to judicial custody after charging him for attempt to murder.
