Waqf board chief’s house burgled

The house of the chairperson of the Karnataka State Board of Waqfs, R. Abdul Reyaz Khan, was burgled on Sunday.

The police said that miscreants broke open the front door of Mr. Khan’s residence in Indiranagar and made away with valuables worth Rs. 7 lakh.

Mr. Khan and his family members had gone to the airport when the incident took place.

According to the police, three pairs of gold bangles, 300 grams of gold valuables and Rs. 50,000 in cash were stolen.

Valuables missing

In yet another incident miscreants stole valuables worth Rs. 3.5 lakh from a house belonging to a retired Air Force officer in Hennur. Roop Narayana (63), a resident of Ashirvad Colony, had gone to hospital to see her ailing mother.

On her return, she found her front door wide open, the house was ransacked and valuables had gone missing, said the police.
