Residents fighting for Pattandur Agrahara lake at Whitefield — which they allege has fallen in the hands of land sharks — woke up on Thursday to find a wall constructed overnight from Jatti Dwarakamai to Abhayadhama campus, just off ECC Road.

The wall cuts off access to the lake.

“Now, pedestrians and cyclists can enter the area only through a narrow metal gate next to Jatti Dwarakamai. No vehicle can access the lake area or the historic Muneshwara temple. Boards demarcating the lake area have been removed. The debris and mud dumped near the lake boundary are yet to be cleared. A second wall has come up on the other side, adjacent to Prithvi Layout and Athashri campus,” said a spokesperson from Whitefield Rising.
