: Tata SIA Airlines Ltd., a joint venture between Tata Sons Ltd., and Singapore Airlines Ltd., on Monday announced the launch of its two flights connecting Bengaluru to Mumbai and New Delhi.
Tata SIA Airlines, which operates the brand ‘Vistara’ said it would start operations on June 16. It will operate two daily flights connecting Bengaluru to New Delhi and Mumbai. Vistara’s inaugural flight from New Delhi to Bengaluru will take off at 6.40 a.m. from Indira Gandhi International Airport. The Mumbai-bound flight takes off from Bengaluru’s Kempegowda International Airport at 10.10 a.m.
Vistara CEO Phee Teik Yeoh said, “Bengaluru will be our tenth destination and we have grown our footprint very quickly in the span of less than six months since we started operations.”
Vistara is a 51:49 joint venture between Tata Sons and Singapore Airlines and started commercial operations on January 9, 2015.
Vistara’s network now offers 237 weekly frequencies connecting Delhi, Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Bagdogra, Guwahati, Goa, Hyderabad, Lucknow, Mumbai and Pune.
Mr. Yeoh said, “Vistara will add three more aircraft from September onwards.”
