Officials of the Anti Corruption Bureau on Wednesday trapped a land surveyor and a Second Division Assistant attached to Land Acquisition Office red-handed while accepting a bribe of ₹25,000 for an official favour.

According to the ACB officials, the duo identified as Basavaraju (land surveyor) and Shivaswamy (SDA) working in Karnataka Housing Corporation in Kaveri Bhavan on K.G. Road had demanded the bribe from a farmer from Huliavu for conversion of his five acre land.

Based on a complaint, a team of officials laid a trap and nabbed the duo red-handed while accepting the cash. The duo was booked under Prevention of Corruption Act and remanded to judicial custody.
