Two persons including were killed in two separate accidents in Bengaluru since Monday.
A 46-year-old KSRTC bus driver was mowed down by a speeding private bus on Mysuru Road on Tuesday morning. The deceased has been identified as Mahadevappa Uppar. A native of Belagavi, Uppar was on his way to work around 11.45 a.m. when the accident occurred. He was riding on his bike when a speeding private bus allegedly knocked him down on Mysuru Road killing him on the spot.
By the time passers-by could rush for help, the bus driver managed to escape. The police rushed to the spot and shifted Mahdevappa’s body to Victoria Hospital. The Central Division traffic police who have taken up the case are on the look out of the accused bus driver.
In another accident, a 22-year-old Anand, resident of Thigalarapalya was killed on the spot after he lost control of the motorcycle he was riding, and rammed into a roadside tree in Peenya on Monday night. Anand, who was working as an operator with a private firm in Peenya, was returning home from work at around 10.30 p.m.
Few passers-by informed the police, who rushed to the spot and shifted his body for post-mortem. The Peenya police are investigating the case.
