A motorcycle rider was killed on the spot and his friend, who was riding pillion, seriously injured when their vehicle rammed a crane at Mico Layout here on Sunday.
The police identified the dead man as U. Suresh (24), a call centre consultant. His friend, who was injured and is undergoing medical treatment, was identified as Binu Basheer.
Both of them were sharing a room at II Stage BTM Layout.
Man run over by bus
In another incident, a motorcyclist identified as Manjunath (25) was run over by a BMTC bus in Whitefield on Sunday.
Manjunath, resident of Yamalur, was returning home after visiting his friend in Anekal when the accident occurred. According to the police, Manjunath was trying to overtake a BMTC bus when a tractor came from the opposite direction soon after which he lost control over his vehicle and fell. The BMTC bus that was just behind him ran over him.
